The Arizona Gang Investigator’s Association is a multi-agency law enforcement group that provides an opportunity for local, county, state, and federal law enforcement professionals to exchange ideas and to develop effective gang crime reduction strategies.  We accomplish these goals through training, networking and publications.

Membership will include Regular and Associate Members from four regions in Arizona.

A regular member is any full time and fully paid law enforcement officer of the State of Arizona, employed by a State, County, Federal or City defined as a Peace Officer under the laws of this state or under federal law of the U.S. Government.A regular member is any person that is employed by a State, County, Federal or City law enforcement agency that is engaged in the reduction of gang related criminal activity, or involved in gang prevention or intervention efforts. Members would also include any person employed by any correctional facility provided the person seeking membership is assigned to a gang investigations unit.  A regular member is any retired law enforcement or retired correctional employees that were assigned to gang investigations units, and who were considered in “good standing” upon their retirement from their agency.Associate members would include teachers, educators, or any person currently employed by a school or social service agency engaged in the reduction of gang related criminal activity or involved in gang prevention or intervention efforts.AZGIA members that were employed or are employed by a law enforcement agency or correctional institution will be allowed access into a member “List Server” if they are in good standing and their participation has been approved by the AZGIA Membership committee.
